  • Why Central America?

Happy people, beautiful weather. Central America is one of the world's most amazing places to explore.

Start in the rainforest of Costa Rica, travel to the beaches of Manuel Antonio and then to the culturally rich country of Nicaragua.

This combination of Under30Experiences is one of our most diverse options, encompassing three very different geographical areas.

  • Day 1: Arrival in Costa Rica

Arrive at the San Jose International Airport (SJO) before 1:00 PM, and be shuttled to our eco-lodge Rancho Margot.

Kick off your visit to Costa Rica by relaxing in the natural pools at Rancho Margot before immersing yourself in the epicenter of eco-tourism.

Our eco-lodge is certified as carbon negative and sits lakeside in a UNESCO biosphere reserve between cloud and rainforests.

Enjoy our opening reception and meet other young people from across the world who you will bond with throughout your adventure.

  • Day 2: Ranch Tour and Zip line Canopy Tour

Start your morning with optional yoga, offered twice daily and eat a healthy, organic breakfast grown on the ranch.

Tour Rancho Margot eco-resort, a global example of green initiatives and sustainability and see the community in the rainforest.

In the afternoon get your heart pumping on our canopy tour with striking views of Arenal Volcano at the best zip line in Costa Rica.

  • Day 3: Arenal National Park

Head just 5km to Arenal Volcano National Park to explore the active volcanic region. Hike one of the most biodiverse places on the planet.

Back at the resort, you'll have the option to relax in a hammock, swim in the natural pools, or adventure into "Mirador" hike.

Get to know your peers over dinner and drinks, and examine how to live a greener, healthier lifestyle.

  • Day 4: Kayak Costa Rica

Be led by our local guides on kayaks into Lake Arenal for a chance to see monkeys, toucans, sloths, and crocodiles at the base of the volcano.

By now you will have your eye on a variety of optional activities including massages, art classes, yoga, horseback riding, or hot springs relaxation.

Kick off the last night with a special dinner overlooking our private lake to celebrate your new relationships in our travel community.

Day 5: Depart for the Beach

Wake up early for an optional morning hike and reflect on your experience in the rainforest over an organic breakfast.

Today you will be headed to paradise. Drive past the Arenal Volcano through San Jose to Playa Hermosa on the Pacific Ocean.

See the sunset over the water while surfers catch the last few waves of the day. That evening arrive in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica.

Day 6: Manuel Antonio National Park

Start your morning by exploring the jungle of Manuel Antonio National Park and hiking to one of the many secluded beaches.

The 683 hectare reserve is home to sloths, iguanas, and three different types of monkeys, including the endangered Titi monkey.

Manuel Antonio National Park is closed on Mondays, if day 6 falls on a Monday, we will just swap with day 7

In the afternoon, enjoy some time in the sun on the local beach or grab a surfboard and ride the waves Costa Rica is known for.

  • Day 7: Explore & Beach

For those interested in getting up early, enjoy your Costa Rican coffee and local fruit while seeing monkeys along the beach at sunrise.

To see real Costa Rican culture, ride the local bus to the nearby town of Quepos and shop the local market for handmade gifts.

After dinner, make your way to the disco for salsa dancing and get to know your peers over drinks in paradise.

    Day 8: Optional Adventures

Today's adventure is all what you make of it. Go for an optional hike, go zip lining, surfing if conditions permit or do yoga on the beach.

Playa Espadilla is a place where you'll be begging to spend more time. Enjoy a cerveza and local ceviche dish right from the sea.

Kick off the night with a meal reflecting on the week's adventures and celebrate your new found friendships.

    Day 9: Travel to Nicaragua

On our final day in Costa Rica, wake up early for an optional morning hike or a relaxing walk on the beach to say adios.

Travel back to San Jose and then up to the Costa Rican-Nicaraguan border approximately 6 hours in private transportation.

Stop for a photo of the twin volcanoes across Lake Nicaragua and then down to our beach location at San Juan del Sur.

  • Day 10: Village Visit and Playa Hermosa

Today learn how micro-loans are transforming this village by allowing women to start businesses and feed their families.

Later, explore Playa Hermosa and relax under the same tiki hut where Survivior Nicaragua was filmed.

This evening will be full of culture in San Juan del Sur for oceanfront salsa dancing that promises not to disappoint.

  • Day 11: Cultural Immersion

The experience continues as we work with community outreach organizations and foster our ongoing relationship with the local children.

Play soccer in the local school yard and learn what life is truly like for children in Nicaragua.

Later in the day relax on the beach at Playa Maderas, take a surf lesson, or hike to the top of the famous overlook for sunset.

  • Day 12: Pure Relaxation

Today is beach day at Playa Maderas where you can relax, surf, and get the tan we've all come to Central America for.

Lounge underneath the rock outcroppings and wait for sunset, or go into San Juan del Sur to explore the market with our local friends.

Tonight will be our closing barbecue at our Adventure Travel and Surf Resort, where we will reflect on our amazing experience abroad.

  • Day 13: Relaxation and Departure

Wake up early to relax in a hammock before ground transportation to Managua International Airport.

Be shuttled to MGA for your flight departing after 12:00 PM.

Say goodbye to your new friends and make plans to stay in touch with those who have shared this personal experience.

As our Under30Experience comes to a close, we hope you are feeling rejuvenated after spending thirteen days in Central America.
